Colorado River BMX invites all area locals and their families to race Wednesday and Friday nights at the local track, located at 2230 Highland Drive in Bullhead City, next to the Boys and Girls Club. Registration runs from 7-8 p.m., with racing immediately after. Participants are asked to wear long sleeves and pants with tennis shoes. Registration is $5 for all USA BMX ABA members , and trophies are available at the booth for an additional fee. Loaner bikes are available for those without their own.
The Mohave County Library in Bullhead City conducts free computer classes Wednesday through Friday each week. Classes are 1 1/2 hours long, and free. Enter Katherine Landing at Lake Mohave. drive right onto the boat launch area, then turn left, continue to House Boat repair yard, park. Behind the Emplyee Only sign is the trail head to Fisherman's Walk.. Take it to Ski Cove, 1/2 mile. Gorgeous. Refreshing swim in Lake Mohave at the end. Any day.

Kayak! Hoover Dam to Willow beach. Spectacular, easy, and fun. Trip lasts 5-7 hours. Level is beginner and up. Day Trip: $60 plus the cost of the permit (4 person minimum). Fee includes shuttle, boat and paddling gear. Reservations must be made at least three weeks in advance to full fill permit requirements. There are two launch times offered, 8:30 and 10:00 am (PST). This can be done as a day trip or overnight trip. Meet in the morning at Desert River Outfitters in Bullhead - 1034 Hwy 95 - and they shuttle you and the gear.

Jet ski up and down the river, past the riverhouses, pick one that you want and buy a lottery ticket...
Hopeully you'll have the good luck to see a RoadRunner, the Velociraptor of the desert. These little fearless guys are SO cool, they hunt and beat the sh*t out of rattlesnakes, which they eat, as well as tarantulas and scorpions. You'll want your own Roadrunner, to protect your yard. Lure them with raw meat, and they will return for more. They even knock on the window if you become their pet human.
The Encore is closed and for sale. Whoever buys it will have a built in crowd of fans that will flock back as soon as it opens. Here's hoping that the future owners create a welcoming comfortable oasis for our drinking and dancing fun! And possibly Dinner Theater? That's what it was built for in the first place. Sold out every time.
Waterlovers will be so happy in Bullhead, there is always opportunity to kayak, jet ski, deck boat, jetboat. The trouble is locals will only go on the water during the summer, they think 80F is too cold!

Park at the end of the lot by the river and just trot on down. Then Riverwalk starts there too, so walk the walk after your cruise. All the way to the new Bubba Gumps, where you can snack over the river.

Hke or bike the new Heritage Greenways Trail . A great easy walk. Park across from the Riverside Casino, and walk over the bridge to Davis Dam and the fishing pods and amphitheatre. The bridge is beautiful close up and the new river pathway a lovely walk. And now at the Davis Dam end is a gorgeous clean and lovely new playground for kids (scroll down this page and look left for photos).

Follow the Primitive Road to Oatman, a short gorgeous desert ride to the little town of surprises. Take Silver Creek up and keep going past the Parkway. Approximately a 20 minute drive. In a tough vehicle. Along the way you'll pass the working gold mine, the "Ya'll come in" sign will be out on a Saturday.

An idea for summer bicycle fun: Transport your bike to El Palacio on 95, park there, and start your ride at the river end of that street, on Riverfront Drive . Ride your bike all alongside the river houses, stopping at each of the access areas to dip in the river. Wear a hat, take sunscreen. There is a small inland detour just before Lakeside Drive, where you can again return to another river access area and more cycling... All the way along the river to Rotary Park and beyond. On your return, stop in at Palacio for happy hour margaritas in the lounge.

Call to Artists! Local artists have the opportunity to showcase their talents by submitting their work to the Bullhead City Municipal Art Commissions Featured Artist Program. The selected artwork will be featured on Bullhead Citys TV4 billboard, on the Citys website and inside the Council Chambers for two months. An artist will be chosen every two months by the Art Commission and will be recognized in person during a televised Commission meeting on TV4. Applications are available in the lobby of City Hall. Artists must submit four colored 4" X 6" photos of the art work, a short biography, and a photograph of the artist (optional). Stroll the River Walk! The nicest walk in Laughlin. (Other that the heritage Greenways Trail. ) Park at the Riverside Casino in Laughlin and make your way to the river's edge. Follow the RiverWalk all the way to Bubba Gumps, and have a snack over the water. To get around the Colorado Belle you have to go through it and rejoin the walk down the side of the Pioneer.
Take a one hour cruise on the river! Various companies along the riverwalk in Laughlin. But only the boat from the Riverside can go under the Laughlin Bridge! Check at the dock downstairs at the back of the Casino, You 'll see a glass door marked for tickets for tours.
